Abstract

Dr. Moinuddin Aqeel, renowned Iqbal Scholar, critic, researcher and writer of Urdu language and literature, needs no introduction due to his scholarly, literary and educational services. He has devoted himself for Iqbal Studies, Urdu language and literature for the past five decades. Apart from Iqbal studies, he is a distinguished researcher, writer and educator of the history, culture and literature of the Muslims of South Asia. He authored or compiled about 85 books in Urdu and English languages and wrote about 400 research articles which were published in international research journals, dictionaries, books and periodicals. Along with numerous official awards and recognitions at the national level, Dr. Moinuddin Aqeel has also been conferred with the highest civilian honor “Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon” by the Emperor of Japan. Apart from this, he also has the honor of Festschrift. He has set new tradition in the field of Iqbal Studies.
