Abstract

Haly and Iqbal were also great critics and great poets.  generally great poets are not  best critics in literature. While in English literature there are  examples other than Coleridge and TS elite. Hali was a contemporary of Raskan and Tolstoy. like both of them Hali also believed that usefulness or objectivity is necessary for Great poetry. But He was not as violent as Tolstoy. Iqbal inherited the objectivity of Hali. He in very clear words opposed the concept of  'literature for the  sake of literature'. He criticized third class literature and architecture.  In his poem “bandagi nama” Iqbal compared the music and architecture of a free nation with the music and architecture of slave Nation. Iqbal was a pragmatist poet. He believed that poet has a social duty. A low caliber poet is more dangerous than halaku and Changaze Khan. According to Allama spiritual health of any Nation is depends to a large extent on revelation which has been revealed on  poets of that nation. In following article would be discussed “technical study of Iqbal s' Urdu poetry”
