Abstract

Dr. Muhammad Riaz was a great scholar of Iqbaliyat and Persian language and literature. During his stay in Iran, he had established close relations with the researchers, writers and scholars there. Due to his expertise in Urdu and Persian language and literature, he removed the barrier of language and literature between the people familiar with both languages and made them aware of each other's academic and literary efforts. Due to this scholarly service of Dr. Muhammad Riaz, the mutual distance between cultures and civilizations narrowed. In Persian language, he wrote books and research articles on many topics of Iqbaliyat and non-Iqbaliyat literature. Dr. Muhammad Riaz has highlighted the intellectual and artistic collaborations between Allama Iqbal and Persian poets in his works and research articles. He also highlighted the aspects which are about Allama Iqbal's derivation from classical poets of Persian language and literature. In this article, the introduction of the Persian writings and books of Dr. Muhammad Riaz is presented, which are of significant and key importance to understand the thought of Allama Iqbal regarding Persian language and literature and to recognize the appreciation of his art.
