Abstract

This article examines the thought of Iqbal as a comprehensive framework for the moral, spiritual, intellectual, and political revival of the Muslim Ummah. It argues that Iqbal identifies the Qur’an as the only timeless and universal source of guidance capable of restoring the lost dignity, unity, and leadership of Muslims. Through his Urdu and Persian poetry, lectures, and prose writings, Iqbal consistently emphasizes truthfulness, justice, courage, and leadership as the core qualities required for collective regeneration. The study highlights Iqbal’s concept of the Mard-e-Momin, whose faith is rooted in firm belief, continuous action, and transformative love, and who embodies both spiritual depth and worldly responsibility. The article also explores Iqbal’s critique of materialism, interest-based economic systems, intellectual imitation of the West, and the separation of religion from politics. It underscores his insistence on integrating Qur’anic values with social, economic, educational, and political life to establish a just and dynamic Islamic civilization. Ultimately, the paper concludes that the revival of Muslim society, leadership, and civilization is only possible through sincere adherence to the Qur’an and Sunnah, guided by the transformative vision articulated in Iqbal’s thought.
