Abstract

The concept of self is the pivotal idea in the Iqbal's thought. His poems Secrets of the Self and Secrets of the Selflessness describe the significance, meaning, and stages of the development of self. Iqbal says that the development of self is the need of both individual and the nation. The individual and collective life of a nation can flourish, sustain and succeed only through development of the self. This article describes the details of the concept of self and possibilities of the application of this concept in collective life. The development of self ensures the successful future of a nation.
