Abstract

The study of important historical personalities has been a subject of Iqbal studies. In this article five personalities of Kashmir are discussed who have a relevance with Allama Muhammad Iqbal: Shah Hamdan, Sheikh Noorudin Wali, Mullah Muhammad Tahir Ghani, Mian Muhammad Bakhsh and Muhammad Anwar Shah Kashmiri. Allama Iqbal has mentioned these personalities in his poetical or prose works except Mian Muhammad Bakhsh. However, Sheikh Noor Muhammad was in contact with Mian Muhammad Bakhsh. On an occasion when he met with Mian Muhammad Bakhsh along with Iqbal, Mian Muhammad Bakhsh predicted the historical role of Iqbal in future. These personalities influenced the poetical & prose works of Iqbal.
