Abstract

Economic concepts with its various dimensions are found in the poetry of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Iqbal's first book Ilmul Iqtisad reflects the interest of Iqbal in Economics. In his other prose writings too the issues of property, ownership of land and capitalism are discussed. In Iqbal's poetry also we can find the discussion about these issues. Economic development is of key importance for prosperity. Industry and other social projects are also instrumental for it. In interpreting the economic teachings of Islam, Iqbal is unique in his approach. Iqbal says that the principle of Qul-el-Afv can be helpful to solve the economic problems of this age.
