Abstract

Iqbal the poet, philosopher and visionary has also contributed as statesman for the Muslims of sub-continent. His political role was aimed at eradication of colonial impact from the life of Muslim community. He negated the contemporary political concepts like nationalism or secularism those were not in accordance with the ideology of Islam. According to Allama Muhammad Iqbal three fundamental principles of modern Islamic state are: human solidarity, equality and freedom. Iqbal gave the idea of spiritual democracy, which according to him can ensure these ideals.
