Abstract

Saleem Ahmed was an Urdu critic and rhetorician, whom rhetorical figures and syntactical patterns not only produced a unique literary style but also contributed a lot to Urdu criticism. He made theoretical criticism as well as practical. His practical criticism covers a number of classic and modern poets and their work. One of the major departments of his criticism is Iqbaliat. Saleem Ahmed's criticism on Iqbal is not conventional or traditional, but he tries to understand Iqbal with different angle. In this article, Saleem Ahmed's specific angle has been discussed.
