Abstract

The beginning of 20th century in Kashmir was a turning point in the social and political history of Kashmir. Allama Iqbal is considered as a main inspiration behind this transformation of Kashmiries. His message of self realization, social revival and intellectual awakening was well received by all the Kashmiries specially the poets and the writers. They started to translate Iqbal's message into Kashmiri language. This helped spread his message of struggle for freedom and Kashmiri identity to every corner of Kashmir.
