Abstract

This research article has two parts. In first part the meaning and concept of civilization and culture have been elaborated in the light of different literally persons i.e. Dr. Daud Rehber, Dr. Jamil Jalibi, Dr. Anees Nagi and other western thinkers who unfolded the knots of different types and schools of thought toward civilization. Islamic and Western concepts are major elements of current scenario. The second part of article is about the letters of Iqbal in which other than poetic and philosophical writings, Iqbal had thrown light on the cultural aspects in his letters. A parallel and comparative study comes before the reader. Iqbal's letters are full of his great attention towards Islamic culture, values, personalities and through these letters we learn about the clashes of Western and Eastern civilizations, having different shades of rural and urban life. Iqbal has showed his utmost desire in these letters for revival of Islamic culture that unfortunately has been disappeared with socio-political decline of the Islamic World.
